I was married in 1983, and had two boys, Tyler in 1987 and Corey in 1989. My oldest is now a Senior, majoring in Philosophy at SDSU and my youngest joined the Naval Reserves in 2007 and is also a computer specialist.
I was married for 24 years when we decided to get divorced in 2007. As is the case for many, we had grown in opposite directions. Fortunately, we are going to remain good friends.
I had worked at Cubic Defense Systems from 1980 to 1987 as a Production Control Analyst. It was a great job that I enjoyed most of the time with great people, however, I chose to quit when my first son was born. I could not bear to leave him.
After I had my second child, I started a day care business that was successful for a 17 year run. I specialized in infants only and I absolutely loved those babies. What a joy that was. I closed my day care business just prior to moving to Rancho Mirage in the summer of 2007. I love it here in the desert despite the heat of the summer and wind that sometimes makes me feel like I am going to end up in the Emerald City looking for a dog named Toto. The people here are great and it is a beautiful place.
School
What can I say about school?
Drivers education was my favorite memory in high school. Driving down to PB during school hours. That was fun. My favorite teacher was Mr. Pflaum , for sign language class. He was very nice and a great teacher.
I also loved Photography class. That was great, even though I had a 126 film camera. Geez! Hey, at least it wasn't a 110. LOL I managed to upgrade to a really nice digital camera now. YEA!!!
College
I started working full time just after high school so I was taking classes at night at Mesa College. I did that for a couple of years before I burned out. I had wanted to be a special education teacher, however that didn't happen.
Workplace
I had worked at Cubic Defense Systems from 1980 to 1987 and worked my way up in the company. I started as an assembler and went all the way up the ranks to becoming a Production Control Analyst. I enjoyed it, for the most part. Many of the people were really not only friends, but like family. I am in touch with a few of them still today. I only quit that job because I had a child and I could not bear to leave him with someone that I didn't know.
I started my own business to enable me to stay home with both of my boys. My infant only day care was a success for 17 years. That was a rewarding experience. Since moving to the Desert, I worked with Composer Frederic Delarue as his Executive Representative as well as being the Secretary on the Board of Directors of his Non-Profit Organization, Cathedral of Angels, in the Palm Springs area. I recently created my own Gift Planning business, ~Gift Planning With A Heart~
I love photography. I take my camera everywhere I go. I reside in Rancho Mirage, CA.
