Classmate Profile:
Diane (Cruger) Finley

Not long after graduation, I started my own business, Champion Signs. While dealing with the challenges of a fledgling enterprise, I also raised my greatest accomplishments, my sons, Danny (25) and Ronny (23).

As my company continued to grow and prosper, I developed a profound interest in the deaf and deaf culture, and, a love for the beauty of their language. Despite the demands of my business, I returned to school to study American Sign Language.

In 2000, after 21 years of successfully running the business, I sold my company and was able to retire...for a while.

High school has wonderful memories for me, and it’s been a pleasure to work on the 30 year reunion committee.  Seeing the photos of fellow classmates and reading their profiles makes me feel like we are all connected in a special way.

I’m living in Poway (in 1978, that was ‘out in the boonies!’)  with my husband, Kyle.  He’s a wonderful man with a big heart and a big smile.  He’s originally from Oklahoma and all of his family still lives there in a little town.  So needless to say, we make a lot of trips back.

Kyle and I started our own business in 2003, Silver Moon Lighting, Inc.  We are specialty contractors for landscape lighting.  We love working together, and it’s great for me to work from home.  Check out our website www.silvermoonlighting.com .

I’m so proud of my two sons.  Danny graduated from U.C. Santa Cruz in 2004 and is currently a regional sales manager in Southern California.  Ronny graduated from U.C. Santa Barbara in 2006 and is now a third year graduate student at Stanford.  He is in the Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering PhD program and works for NASA full time over the summer.

I enjoy sewing, painting, card making and in the past year I’ve taken up quilting.  I love to cook and bake all kinds of sweets.

Looking forward to seeing everyone in August 2008!
