After learning American Sign Language in high school (which I still know), I attended San Diego State to pursue a Business degree. To help pay for college, I interpreted for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
I then joined the United States Navy working here in San Diego at Balboa Naval Hospital as a Hospital Corpsman. After my eight year enlistment in the Navy (where I met my wife), I sold medical equipment for various rehab companies.
I then decided to pursue my high school passion of teaching which, I have enjoyed for the past 12 years in the Del Mar Union School District. I also earned a Master's of Education and a School Administrative Credential from CA State University, San Marcos. However, the biggest life-highlight has been my marriage of 20 years, and counting, to my wife Monica. Together we work as a team to raise our three sons; fraternal twins Colin and Keegan who are 17 1/2 and Conor age 12.
Most of my spare time is spent between two north county high schools and one north county elementary school following my three sons' activities.
For 20 years, my family and I have made our home in Carmel Valley in San Diego, CA.
